I recently came across the illustration of Izziyana Suhaimi on Pinterest via Catherine Green. Izziyana’s work stopped me in my tracks with its unusual meld of hand-done embroidery and black and white illustration. I love the way the embroidery gives the pencil and watercolor so much dimension, interest and life.

An Almost Mother’s Day

Here are a few bits of my first Mother’s Day that included a special breakfast, origami flowers and belly photos. It’s quite strange to have this little guy kicking inside of me. It makes me feel like a mother already and yet not at all. I know I have so much yet to experience.

Six Good Years

Our six year anniversary was this weekend, and it was a good one spent in St. Louis thrifting, eating and photobooth perusing. I find that as each year with this guy passes the next one is better than the last.
