DIY Deck the Halls

DIY Deck the Halls | Mara Dawn
I believe in slow decorating. Or, otherwise known as lazy decorating in some circles. I like to take my time with things. It took me six years to get a tree skirt and our tree still is without garland or a tree topper. Poor little naked tree.

I’ve got the itch to finally give our tree and home a good holiday treatment. I’ve been brainstorming ideas on how to do so without spending gobs of money. I’m really loving the above DIY inspirations and plan to do a few of my own. We’ve got sort of an retro/old world look to a lot of our ornaments. I love the idea of tempering some of the glitz and glitter with some more natural elements. Scandinavian old world modern, here I come! Side note: I think I could name mood boards all day long and be a happy gal.

Oh, I’m so with you on this, Mara. My biggest problem is getting all the supplies for a DIY project. It’s work in itself to find and buy the stuff at the craft stores… I wish someone would just get everything I need for me 🙂 Beautiful board, you’ve inspired me to do some holiday decor! xo

I totally agree. I can come up with a million ideas, but I never like to do the sourcing to get them done.
