The hardest thing about this shower was narrowing down the photos to share here. I suppose that’s the best kind of problem to have. As I’ve said before with the mood board and invitations, we decided to throw our friend Jenn a shower that was a more modern and funky party than it was a formal affair, despite it being a tea party. It was nice to have a bridal shower that differed a bit than the typical games and cake type shower.
We mixed traditional China with neon pom poms, colorful tableware and brightly patterned tablecloths for a high-low effect. Oh, and the hats. All of the lovely hats. There were floppy hats, fasteners, headbands, flowers, tall hats and small lady-like hats. In the invitation we asked that everyone come wearing their favorite hair adornment, and it was so fun to see how each person interpreted the call for a little hair flair. A bar had different selections of teas for drinking, complete with sugar cubes. We served fruit on skewers, pinwheels and cucumber sandwiches, of course. Instead of the traditional cake, we chose colorful macarons and homemade marshmallows, mini cupcakes and cream cheese mints. It was quite the afternoon for a fun and lovely bride.
I took these photographs, but much credit is due to the other creative ladies that also hosted the shower and crafted, cooked and decorated their hearts out: Kesha, Michelle, Katherine and Stephanie. I love you girls.
